I just wanted to let you know that, as
usual, you have a terrific staff. Dennis and Vanessa (and
the DM's in training) provided excellent customer service,
demonstrated superior knowledge of the dive sites and local
marine life and just a great "lets-go-have-fun" diving
attitude. All of the above are the reasons why we always
come back to dive with your operation.

I came to Roatan to get my Advanced and NG
certifications. I knew that the success of my vacation was going
to be partly based on how well I liked my instructor since this
was what I was going to be doing most of the day. A few things
went wrong on day one at Palmetto so I was a little worried
about how organized things were going to be at Subway when I
showed up on Sunday morning. My first impression of the shop
made all my worries and frustrations of the previous day
disappear.
My correspondence with Patrick had obviously
been passed on and they were waiting for me with all the
paperwork and books ready to go. We quickly decided to get me on
the 9 am boat so Julian could see what he had to work with all
week! I think by the end of the week I made up for that first
dive! It wasn't pretty at all!
Julian is a patient, knowledgeable, uber-intelligent
and honest instructor. He was quick to make fun of me for doing
something "ugly" but just as quick to tell me how to make it
better and to give me positive feedback when I did things right.
Everything he said and did was in the interest of making me a
better diver. He isn't an easy instructor and he pushed me
throughout the week. It made every minute and dollar worthwhile
and the whole experience very enjoyable.
I chose Subway because of Patrick's quick and
thorough correspondence with me, positive reviews I had read
on-line, your offering of the NG certification and your pricing.
I will have no problem recommending you to other divers.
My wife and
I just returned from our Roatan trip last night and, within 30 minutes
of being back in Washington, DC fighting crowds and traffic, I said
"&&^%# I wish we were back on Roatan underwater". We stayed at Palmetto
Bay and dove w/Kristin, Eileen, Matt, Corby and Cliff (the best boat
captain in the world). One word sums up this crew - Superb.
We ended up
w/13 dives a piece and most trips were just us and another couple w/the
divemasters. On a few occasions Nora and I were the only divers - this
made it a lot of fun, really extended our bottom times and allowed the
divemasters to show us some neat stuff. On a side note, we drove to
West End one afternoon and saw the "cattle boats" coming in and were
glad we decided to dive w/Subway at Palmetto.
We completed
our Adv OW course while there and Kristin was the instructor. Kristin
was extremely professional, everything was done by the book and she made
it a lot of fun as well.
Eileen
(Mother Sea as the interns call her) is a true jewel. Professional,
calm and extremely knowledgeable of all things diving and the underwater
world. A joy to dive with.
Can't forget
Cliff - our "boat captain". Great guy and always seemed to know
exactly where we would surface after our drift dives.
We will
definitely dive w/Subway on our next trip and would recommend to anyone
who wants personalized service to do the same.

I just wanted to write and tell you how much I
appreciate all that you have done for my party diving last week.
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves! Your staff was very
knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you very much for your hospitality. We
will use you again when we get back there!

Thanks for a wonderful
experience in Roatan! Although our stay was brief, my son and I had
a great trip and four excellent dives. The Palmetto Bay team were
great to work with. A special thanks to Julian for his thorough and
gentle instruction. Having only recently been certified in
Tennessee, this trip was a perfect introduction to real ocean
diving.
We’ll definitely call on you again for our next trip to the Bay
Islands.

We
got back from our cruise last night. We had a great time, but I must say
that your tour was the highlight of our trip. While all of our other
excursions were fine, they were packed with people and very busy, not
relaxing. On the other hand, your tour was well organized, friendly,
exclusive and relaxed. The Palmetto Bay Plantation was beautiful and the
kayaking and snorkeling was outstanding. Mark was an excellent guide and I
appreciate him making my wife feel comfortable on the water. She was very
nervous when she started but with Mark's guidance she felt safe and enjoyed
the trip.
The lunch that
was served was a perfect ending to a perfect day. I will recommend your tour
to anyone I know who is heading to Roatan in the future.
Our driver got
us back to the ship in plenty of time and he too was a great guide.

Thanks you so much for a wonderful day of diving from all eight of us. We really
enjoyed ourselves and appreciated all the extra care and concern from all of
your staff from being picked up at the pier, gearing us up, the dives, and
returning us back. We were appreciative of the extra divers to "Oversee" us and
then Mark and Cliff on both dives. Thank you for making our trip to Roatan
wonderful! We will highly recommend you to all that we know going to Roatan in

Thank
you very much for arranging an excellent dive trip for our group. We all
thoroughly enjoyed it. It was unanimously the best diving experience ever for

Hello Gillian and gang!
I just wanted to thank you all for a fabulous holiday in Roatan. The diving was spectacular (not to mention fun, fun, fun!) and
bonus..... I felt I improved my diving skills with the help of your great
staff!
I hope to return to Subway for more diving in the future.....it's a good
sign when you're planning your next trip and you've only been back in the
real world one day! Cindy, Laura, Lisa, Bobby and I each had a great time!
Andrew.....your hand signals have come in handy already. I'm referring to
the 'stop f&*">#ing around' one in particular!!! Very funny!

Hi Patrick. Late last year, I took the open water course at Palmetto,
where we recently bought a little duplex. It was a grand experience, and
Julian, Eileen, Albert and Samuel were a great package. They maintained
enthusiasm, even though there were only two of us in the class and I
doubt anyone was getting rich. Julian was particularly helpful getting
my 60-year old brain cells to comprehend the dreaded dive charts. We'll
be down again this December, and hope to do business with you again. I
read in various dive posts that some folks thought the north shore to be
less glamorous than the south, but it was world-class to me. Peter

Hello again,
I am writing this little memo to you to
pass on all of the complements I received from my dive party on all
of the dive shops I choose. We all had a great time with your shop
and dive staff. We really enjoyed the relaxed feeling we experienced
once away from the cruise ship crowds. I don’t think the trip could
have been done any better. We are very impressed on the pride and
respect your staff has for there heritage, country, dive locations
and its delicate eco-system of the reefs.
I am going to talk to a local travel
agent about putting a package together again.

Boat & Scuba West
My fiancée and I have been on the island for almost a week today, but our
vacation didn’t start until two days ago when we where introduced to Gillian and
Patrick at Subway Watersports. Their hospitality, professionalism and friendly
nature have truly turned our vacation into a super one. I am so happy that we
found a dive shop that catered to our more personal sense of adventure and
didn’t rotate us through like an assembly line. I have nothing but feelings of
enthusiastic endorsement for Patrick and Gillian and Subway Watersports. Thank

The snorkeling at Half Moon Bay, the beach beyond Parrot Tree, was very
pleasant. The beach is nice and has a white bottom. These folks are very good
hosts.

just completed the PADI open water certification course with Patrick at Subway
Watersports (their first Class of 2002) Gillian and Patrick offer wonderful
small group dives, always friendly atmosphere, and outstanding personalized
instruction!
My traveling companion has been diving the Caribbean for several years and she
said that she has never had better diving experiences than at Subway. She also
tells me that I am now “ruined” for other dive spots and dive shops as I’ve
started with the best.

My wife and I trained at Subway Watersports at The Roatan Dive and Yacht Club in
French Harbor. We had a great time learning with Patrick, Gillian, and Merritt.
They are complete professionals and great people to boot. If you want to dive
with friendly people, learn from two very knowledgeable instructors, and
experience the most beautiful reefs in the world then I suggest you try them
out. We had a wonderful experience and we will return there again and again.

Having seen West End, Geoff and I really appreciated the benefits of being at
the Yacht Club. Thanks for setting it all up and making the arrangements for
Copan - it was a bit of a whistle stop for us going to Copan but we wouldn't
have missed it for anything and we appreciated the extras of the mahogany
