Annarose Mc Daniel, USA

I am currently working over the summer at Terminal Gravity Brewing in the Wallowa Mountains of Eastern Oregon. I have been having a hard time deciding on a career or a field to study in school so want to try to pursue a different way of living. Looking forward to this program and wish I could just jump on a plane and start tomorrow. Get ready to live the dream Annarose.

Hobbies: I like doing mixed medium artwork, swimming, packing up and running off to something fun, road trips, trying and learning new things. I enjoy doing anything as long as it gets me on the go and outside. I love being able to be spontaneous and experience something new because I was.

Dive experience: none unfortunately. No worries, you’ll have 60 dives and many new aquatic friends before you graduate.

Stephen Palmer, UK

Recently a shop owner in England, I enjoy working with customers and trying to be my best at customer service. I would like to dive more often yet it is to cold in England for my liking. So every holiday I try to go diving. I really would like to become an instructor so I could leave the cold waters of Britain behind for warmer tropical waters.

Hobbies: Diving, sailing canoeing.

Diving experience: Advanced open water with 10 logged dives which includes Egypt.

Holden Hoover, USA

I am currently working in landscaping and working on my Spanish.

I would like to continue my SCUBA education and possibly train to be a Instructor professional. I’m very interested in learning more about the industry, as this is a passion of mine.

Hobbies: I am an avid saltwater fisherman, with a strong knowledge of pelagic, shallow water, and some reef critters.

Diving experience:  I have been diving for over 6 years, with 36 logged dives as a PADI Advanced Open water diver.

I love to see new places and hang around them for a while. I have been doing archaeology both on land and underwater for about 5 years now.  I am a big reader, like Louis L’Amour to John Steinbeck.  I grew up in San Francisco; my college mascot was a banana slug.

Hobbies: Knitting, Bikram yoga, cooking, hiking, sailing

Diving experience: NAUI Rescue, 75 logged dives

Brice Scott, USA

I am currently a student here at Texas A&M University studying Ocean Engineering and hope to graduate in 2013.  My dad got me diving a few years ago, and it's been something I have loved ever since.  I would love to work as a dive instructor when I get out of college so getting my Dive Master certification is my next step!

Hobbies: I am a very active person and love all types of sports; football, golf, wake boarding, rock climbing are all right up my alley.  I'm always open to try some new things so hopefully I can find some new hobbies in Roatan!

Dive Experience: Will be PADI Rescue Certified in November with around 25 logged dives.

Erik Speer, USA

I have just finished my third year of college in College of Charleston's biochemistry department. I decided I had no idea what I was doing at the time and turned to the one thing I absolutely loved which is diving. I had a friend go through the Subway Watersports internship a while ago and she absolutely loved it. She told me that this is exactly what I needed to do.

Hobbies: hiking, running, playing piano, photography, cooking, traveling, expanding my knowledge of the world, meeting new people, and anything to do with the outdoors or that challenges me physically.

Dive experience: Recreational diver with just the basic open water training. I have been diving for five years with around 45 dives completed. My favorite dive site so far has been in the Galapagos Islands.

Ricardo Ramos, USA

I currently live in Miami FL. I have some time on my hands right now due to loosing my job with Waste Management due to cut backs. Ready for a life style change and do something I love for a living. So I'm taking this time to work my way up to Divemaster, Instructor and MSDT and then find a job some were. Really excited about this whole thing cant wait to start!

Hobbies:  camping, hiking, fishing, spear fishing, scuba diving, sky diving, free diving, and most of all just being out in the water.

Dive experience:  I've had my open water for some 18 years now with  48 logged dives and the total being more like 200+  after I started diving of my own boat. I have been really big on free diving lately.

Kerry Wheldon, UK

I currently live in Leeds, in England and work in HR. As I've never been travelling I decided that I would like to take a break and do something amazing… after a bit of internet searching I found out about Divemaster Internships in Roatan!

Hobbies: At home the water is a bit too cold for my liking so I don't do any Scuba Diving in England but love keeping active. I like running half marathons, although I think Roatan might be a little too humid for that!

Diving Experience: I've dived on 3 different holidays, all in Egypt but absolutely feel in love with it. I'm an Open Water Diver and completed about 16 Dives so far.

I have been working for The Nature Conservancy for about 3 years in Massachusetts and Texas.  My work consisted of GIS, Biological data collection, and firefighting.  I worked on Fire crews in the west during the summer wildfire season.  I have always wanted to work underwater.  The dive master internship seemed like a great way to get a jump start to a career working underwater.  I would like to own and operated an adventure company in the future.

Dive experience:  certified open water in college, but never had the opportunity to use it after graduating.

James McNab, UK

Having worked as a chef in my home town for the six months since graduating in law, I am looking for an adventure which is as far away from either field as possible. Having learnt to dive in Australia, Thailand and Vietnam on a gap year between school and university in 2006 I have unfortunately not been able to dive or travel properly since. Now that I finally have the opportunity I am very excited about revisiting a pastime which I have enjoyed a lot in the past and hopefully pursuing it professionally.

Hobbies: I play a lot of rugby and enjoy spending time with friends, I also enjoy film and reading and have keen interests in travel and cookery.

Diving: Advanced Open Water Level with 14 dives.

Bruce Crocker, Canada

A few years ago I discovered SCUBA and have enjoyed it so much that I would like to make becoming a Divemaster one more fork in the road for me, a fork that will allow me to continue on to becoming an Instructor.  I will be starting my third semester in Spanish at university and hope to be able to incorporate a second language into my ultimate goal of being able to dive on a daily basis in the warm waters of the Caribbean or Pacific, introduce others to the captivating world of SCUBA and, perhaps even earn a little money doing so.

Hobbies:  Biking, learning Spanish, travel, meeting new challenges/people, and at the same time, somehow being a fulfilling spouse and father.

Diving Experience:  Advanced Open Water with 40 plus logged dives

Cory Osborn, USA

Cory is an athletic person and quick learner and loves being near the water..

Hobbies:  Jet ski, water ski, wakeboard, tubing……

Diving Experience: No certified diving experience.

Ray Dustin, USA

Working in a steel mill for the last 6 years has been a well paying job but the work is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. So I'm hoping to gain enough experience at Subway Watersports in Roatan to become a scuba instructor.  I hope to find work somewhere warm and just stay .

Hobbies: I enjoy travelling and experiencing new people.  I like doing anything outside and near the water as long as the weather is warm.

Dive experience: I have only started diving a few months ago and am open water certified with about 5 logged dives.
