Diving experience: Kris is an advanced open water diver with plans to advance to career level instructor.

Paul O'sullivan, Australia

I’ve been travelling Australia for about 2 years contract watermelon picking. It is a physical job with lots of rewards like travelling around Australia and meeting people from all over the world. In 2010 I want to travel the world including Roatan to become a professional diver. This rating will give me jobs around the world to fund my travels and have a wicked time diving and getting paid for it.

Hobbies: fishing, hunting, golf, rugby, surfing, listening to music, diving, travelling and meeting new people.

Dive experience: Advanced open water with 8 dives. And heaps of free diving.

Matt Daniel, USA

I have been working for The Nature Conservancy for about 3 years in Massachusetts and Texas.  My work consisted of GIS, Biological data collection, and firefighting.  I worked on Fire crews in the west during the summer wildfire season.  I have always wanted to work underwater.  The dive master internship seemed like a great way to get a jump start to a career working underwater.  I would like to own and operated an adventure company in the future.

Hobbies:  travel, backpacking, biking, photography, rafting, experiencing new things, and cooking

Dive experience:  certified open water in college, but never had the opportunity to use it after graduating.

Blake Reynolds

My first dive in the Riviera Maya was 3 years ago, and I have loved it ever since. So I have decided to take a break from school and pursue my passion.

Hobbies: I enjoy biking, snowboarding, reading, writing and travel.

Dive Experience: PADI Advanced Open Water diver with 10+ dives

Katie Dickey, USA

Katie graduated in May of 2009 with a degree in political science and women's studies. Afterwards she went on to pursue a graduate certificate in documentary film. In an attempt to decide between law school and the arts she is taking this opportunity to follow a separate passion ( Diving! yay!). Having always been a lover of the water, adventure sports and nature this program is a great fit. She plans on traveling extensively after this internship and taking this time to learn Spanish and whatever else comes her way.

Hobbies: music, writing, film making, photography,  yoga, the outdoors, long walks on the beach and the color pink

Dive experience: Katie was certified as an open water diver in Roatan about 6 years ago! She hasn't been in a place to scuba dive since. She is excited to make up for lost time.

Daniel Mickethwaite, UK

Last summer I went out to Madagascar with an organization called Blue Ventures, where I began diving and got certified up to rescue diver. After coming back to the UK I caught and have had the diving bug ever since.

Hobbies: I used to work as a chef so I would love to have a good get together with all the interns and the staff. I love to read, and go bowling, and to just chill out with friends, I’m a novice boulderer but I climb when I can.

Dive Experience: Rescue Diver

Gemma Nye, England

I am currently working as a Secondary school Art and Photography teacher in England, but have decided to take a career break and follow one of my other big passions- diving. I spent my summer on a Marine Conservation project on a small island off the coast of Tanzania, and really loved it, diving and studying fish every day and living in a hut on a beach.  Now I want to learn and do more.  I hope to complete my Divemaster course and then use these new skills while I travel more of the world.

Hobbies: sailing, wakeboarding, skiing, playing the guitar and singing, photography, painting and travelling.

Dive experience: Rescue diver with 56 logged dives.

Bruce Crocker, Canada

A few years ago I discovered SCUBA and have enjoyed it so much that I would like to make becoming a Divemaster one more fork in the road for me, a fork that will allow me to continue on to becoming an Instructor.  I will be starting my third semester in Spanish at university and hope to be able to incorporate a second language into my ultimate goal of being able to dive on a daily basis in the warm waters of the Caribbean or Pacific, introduce others to the captivating world of SCUBA and, perhaps even earn a little money doing so.

Hobbies:  Biking, learning Spanish, travel, meeting new challenges/people, and at the same time, somehow being a fulfilling spouse and father.

Diving Experience:  Advanced Open Water with 40 plus logged dives

Cory Osborn, USA

Hobbies:  Jet ski, water ski, wakeboard, tubing……

Diving Experience: No certified diving experience.

Ray Dustin, USA

Working in a steel mill for the last 6 years has been a well paying job but the work is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. So I'm hoping to gain enough experience at Subway Watersports in Roatan to become a scuba instructor.  I hope to find work somewhere warm and just stay .

Hobbies: I enjoy travelling and experiencing new people.  I like doing anything outside and near the water as long as the weather is warm.

Dive experience: I have only started diving a few months ago and am open water certified with about 5 logged dives.

Lauryn LePere, USA

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania studying business and Spanish.  I have been around the water since I was born and have been diving since the age of 10.  I think that this program will be an excellent opportunity to not only advance my diving skills but also advance my Spanish-speaking abilities.

Hobbies: waterskiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing, cooking, traveling, and taking on new experiences

Diving experience: advanced open water with 31 logged dives

Dave Walter, USA

My name's Dave and I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. I'm currently a freshman at Binghamton University in New York. I started diving a few years back on a family  vacation and I've been diving every chance I've gotten since. Having basically done the same thing every summer of my life, and not wanting to find another useless summer job Its time to do something new and maybe I'll even find a career out of it.

Hobbies: I'm really into sports, I play club lacrosse at school but I'll play anything that comes up. I like to ski over the winter, listen to music, go out with friends and obviously diving when I get a chance.

She has always loved water sports/activities, was scuba certified by the age of 12 and has been diving as much as possible ever since! Alex Stimac, USA

I am entering into the field of teaching and part of my career goal has always been to spend my summers as a divemaster or instructor.  I just finished school in December, so the next logical step is to get divemaster certified.  Diving has been in my family since before I was born, and has been a passion of mine since I began at age 12.

Hobbies: I think my background in biology will certainly be helpful as a tool for me to explain marine life to customers.  I also love travelling, meeting people, and spending time in the sun.

Dive Experience: PADI Rescue Diver with over 100 dives

Alissa Rickborn

Dive Experience: PADI Rescue Diver with 66 dives
